Body resigns as acting commissioner


Kay Goodwin, cabinet secretary for the West Virginia Department of Education and the Arts, today announced that Troy O. Body, acting commissioner of the West Virginia Division of Culture and History, has resigned to accept a position out of state.

Body has been acting commissioner since July 2004. Previous to his appointment, he served as deputy commissioner for the agency. His resignation is effective Dec. 31.

“Commissioner Body has worked tirelessly on behalf of the Division of Culture and History,” said Goodwin. “His energy and vision have served the agency very well, and we will certainly miss his leadership.”

According to Goodwin, no decision has been made on a replacement.
