Andrea Maciel de Faria

 Miss Andrea was born in Brazil and began dancing at age of three at Sesiminas Ballet Institute. Some of her teachers include Cristina Helena, Pablo Moret, Ofelia Gonzalez, Tania Suares and Graca Sales. In 2003, on her graduation year, she moved to Germany and studied at Palucca School of Dresden with Hans-Joachim Tappendorf.

Andrea has worked in companies like, Sesiminas Ballet (Brazil), Columbia Classical Ballet, Milwaukee Ballet and Orlando Ballet. She has received multiple awards at ballet competitions in Brazil,
France and she was awarded with a Gold Medal in "Danza Nino 97" in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Andrea was also a finalist at NY International Ballet Competition in 2005, USA.

Her repertoire includes Swanilda in Coppelia, Kitri and Cupid in Don Quixote, Myrtha in Giselle, Medora in Le Corsaire, Lisa in La Fille Mal Gardee, Cinderella in Cinderella, Aurora in Sleeping Beauty, Sugar Plum Fairy in Nutcracker, as well as leading roles in works by George Balanchine, including Valse Fantasie and Who Cares.

As a guest dancer, she has performed in multiple places including Greensboro, NC; Columbia, SC; Radford, VA; New York, NY, Miami,Sarasota and Orlando, FL; and Hammond, LA. to name a few.

Over the last 10 years, Andrea has also taught ballet technique, pointe, variations and privates classes. Miss Andrea has taught in places like Columbia Classical Ballet, Milwaukee Ballet and Orlando Ballet. Andrea has also been invited to teach summer programs in  many different ballet schools all over America
