Society was formed in 1939 to promote the history of the State. The
Quarterly, the Society's publication, contains interesting
articles about the history of West Virginia, genealogical material,
activities of county and regional societies, book notes, and much
more. The Society is responsive to member needs and has recently
instituted a Query section for genealogists.
